Come hang out with your fellow crafty folks! Sticks & String is a group of folks who like to knit, crochet, sew, and do other things with sticks and string.
This week Jan is offering a mini workshop: Introduction to Amigurumi. Here's what she has to say:
Small crocheted toys are very popular these days. Whether it’s a cute cat, a perky penguin, or some other adorable animal, they are fun to make. The art form is often referred to as amigurumi, a Japanese term meaning “small crocheted or knitted toy."
Today’s mini workshop offers you an introduction on how to crochet an amigurumi-style toy. While making a small, simple ball, you'll learn how to start your toy, how to increase and decrease the number of stitches, and how to finish your toy. Familiarity with single crochet is highly recommended.
No registration required, and you don't need a library card to attend. Just drop in! And feel free to bring a friend.
See you there!
