Here's the second step in our double thick crochet series, where we learn how to use the double thick crochet stitch to make a sturdy tote bag. (If you missed the first session, you can learn the stitch itself and make a trivet or potholder, if you prefer.) 

Bring DK or worsted-weight yarn and crochet hooks for that size (US H/8mm or your preference). A hook two sizes smaller is also helpful. Trivet or potholders require 100% cotton yarn, but the bags work in anything. The tote bags look perfectly good in inexpensive acrylics like Red Heart Super Saver.

Also, bring paper and pen to take a few notes.
