Learn how to reduce your risk of heart disease and build a happier heart as Alameda County Nutrition Services launches its 2nd annual Happy Heart Campaign.
Heart disease is directly related to high blood pressure and consumption of processed foods high in salt, sugar, and fat. Think chicken nuggets versus roast chicken, or apple pop tart versus a fresh, crisp apple.
To address this, the Happy Heart message is:
- Check your blood pressure regularly
- Eat less processed food
- Eat more whole foods
In this informational presentation, you will receive free nutrition educational materials and a gift to support your effort to be healthier.
Programming for this event is provided by Alameda County Nutrition Services with support from CalFresh.
Legal and Health Insights is a series of informative programs for older adults. Look for new programs at 2pm on the second Thursday of each month.
