Do you need help paying your power bill? You may qualify for federal aid.
A representative from Spectrum Community Services will be on site to accept applications and answer questions about the Low Income Home Energy (LIHEAP) assistance program.
LIHEAP helps qualified households with a one-time-per-program-year payment on their energy bill.
Applications for the program are available in the Community Resource Area behind the elevators on the first floor of the Downtown Hayward Library.
Please bring copies of:
- your current energy bill, including shutoff notice, if you have one
- proof of monthly income
- U.S. government-issued ID.
Spectrum representatives are generally available 2-4pm on the second Tuesday of the month at the Downtown Hayward Library. In November, due to the Veteran's Day holiday on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, Spectrum representatives will be in the library one week later, on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Se habla español.
