Event Details

The Hayward Public Library is offering a free ESL Grammar Workshop Series! This class is designed for beginning learners of the English language. The class will be held in the CLC at the Downtown Library on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 am for eight weeks, beginning February 6th. Interested participants will fill out the General Interest Form to begin enrollment.

The students will learn the eight parts of speech, the “Be” and “Have” verbs, basic sentence structures, and Simple Present verb tense through lectures, online exercises, speaking practices, and many more fun activities. Additionally, students must have a library card to check out a textbook. They will also pick up free school supplies to assist with their studies. 

After completing a level, the learners will receive a certificate of completion from the City of Hayward.  

*Please note: This is a series of classes and not a drop-in program. Learners must attend all 8 classes to participate.
