Due to circumstances beyond our control, the April 13 session of Lawyer in the Library has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

In the meantime, you can check the ACBA calendar for other Lawyer in the Library programs in Alameda County at https://www.vlsc-acba.org/lawyers-in-the-library

You can also see their list of other free and low-cost legal services at https://www.vlsc-acba.org/_files/ugd/e77345_844ea4ed42ce4bbf99e7d80dd1628b4b.pdf

The Lawyer in the Library program is a free legal information and referral program hosted by the Hayward Public Library and staffed by a volunteer lawyer. In a one-on-one telephone appointment, the lawyer can answer questions on most legal topics. If legal help is required, people are referred to other agencies.

Appointments usually run for about 10-15 minutes. Due to limited availability, we can only make one appointment per month per person or family.

To request an appointment, send your phone number and desired date to michelle.nogales@hayward-ca.gov or call 510-881-7980. Please do not send any confidential information in your email. Library staff will get back to you within three business days.

This program is co-sponsored by Alameda County Bar Association, Legal Access Alameda.
