Bhutan calls itself the Happiest Place in the World, and indeed, the tiny Himalayan nation is a delight for birds and birders. With over 60% of its land forested, from alpine scrub to tropical broadleaf habitats, Bhutan boasts many beautiful and unusual birds as well as distinctive flowers, animals, and architecture. Learn something about them all in this fun, photo-filled presentation.
Presented by scientist and storyteller Bob Lewis, winner of the American Birding Association's Chandler Robbins Award for excellence in teaching. His life list includes more than 5,000 birds, and he has a story for each of them.
This program is part of Hayward Public Library's Bay Area Birding series. The next presentation will be inspired by April Fool's Day: March 29, Birds who Play Tricks.
Sponsored by Friends of Hayward Library.
