Program Description

Event Details

Discover why winter brings millions of birds to California's Central Valley and learn where to find them in this fun, photo-filled presentation by scientist and storyteller Bob Lewis. In this talk, he will focus on swans, cranes, geese, ducks, eagles, hawks, and falcons. These are some of the biggest birds we have in the Bay Area, and it’s easy and exciting to visit them at nearby wildlife refuges.

Bob Lewis won the American Birding Association's Chandler Robbins Award for teaching. His life list includes more than 5,000 birds, and he has a story for each of them.

This program is part of Hayward Public Library's Bay Area Birding series. Look for presentations throughout the year, including How Birds Navigate Climate Change, March 30.

Sponsored by Friends of Hayward Library.
