SPECIAL EVENT: MAY MUSIC 圖書館特別奉獻：五月歡樂季

Come to two live performance at the Downtown Library to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. MiFaSol youth Vietnamese music troupe will perform traditional and modern Vietnamese songs. The California Youth Chinese Symphony will play traditional Chinese instruments.

All are invited! Fun for the whole family!

Henry and Ann Tran were both born in Vietnam. Henry left in 1979, one of thousands of people fleeing the communist regime after the war. They met later online and married in the US. Their three children all speak Vietnamese, and learned music from an early age. MiFaSol performs Vietnamese songs all across the Bay Area. “People can see how beautiful Vietnamese culture is,“ says Ann. 

The California Youth Chinese Symphony (CYCS) is a non-profit organization serving the Bay Area and nationwide. It has a mission of promoting musical diversity and enriching the cultural lives of our communities by playing professional-level traditional instruments. These high-schoolers have performed at many local charities and libraries.

歡迎大家來參與五月“亞裔及太平洋島嶼文化節”慶祝。這次我們請到越南裔青少年為我們演唱越南文及英文歌曲。還有“加州青年囯樂團”的演奏。精彩紛呈，不容錯過！所有圖書館活動都免費。請大家廣爲宣傳。節目適合全家參與。

亨利和安都來自越南。亨利1979年逃離戰後的越南來到美國，後來認識了安，并在美國結婚生子。他們的三個小孩從小接受音樂教育，都會說越南語。他們通過在灣區各地演出來傳承美麗的越南文化。

“加州青年囯樂團”更享譽灣區及美國。他們多次獻演慈善機構及圖書館，為社區多元文化建設貢獻自己的力量！這次他們將獻演極高水準的琵琶獨奏、笛子獨奏及合奏！機會十分難得！
