Raqs Sharqi Arabic Dance with Nicole: Celebrating Arab American Heritage Month 東方之舞（肚皮舞)，慶祝阿拉伯美國人文化月

Everyone is invited!

National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM) takes place in April. It celebrates the Arab American heritage and culture and pays tribute to the contributions of Arab Americans and Arabic-speaking Americans

Celebrate Arabic dance with multi-award winning dancer Nicole Maria. Her engaging and interactive performance will end with a belly dance lesson for all. Audience participation of all ages is encouraged!

The art of Raqs Sharqi (also known as Arabic dance or “belly dance") originally comes from folk dances of the SWANA region (South West Asia/North Africa) and was adapted for the stage in the 1920s cabarets of Egypt. Nicole Maria presents an interactive, family-friendly performance of this dynamic dance form.

Registration is not required but encouraged. It helps us prepare for the event.

It will take place at the Weekes Branch. Parking may be a bit challenging, but street parking is available. Please plan to arrive earlier to ensure you find a parking spot.

تقام شهر التراث العربي الأمريكي الوطني (NAAHM) في شهر أبريل. يحتفل بالتراث والثقافة العربية الأمريكية ويكرم إسهامات الأمريكيين من أصول عربية والأمريكيين الناطقين بالعربية.

احتفل بالرقص العربي مع الراقصة الحائزة على العديد من الجوائز نيكول ماريا. ستنتهي عروضها المشوقة والتفاعلية بدرس للرقص الشرقي للبطن للجميع. يشجع مشاركة الجمهور من جميع الأعمار!

فن رقص الشرقي (المعروف أيضًا باسم الرقص العربي أو "رقص البطن") يأتي أصلاً من الرقصات الشعبية في منطقة سوانا (جنوب غرب آسيا / شمال أفريقيا) وتم تكييفه للمسرح في ملاهي القرن العشرين في مصر. تقدم نيكول ماريا عرضًا تفاعليًا وصديقًا للعائلات لهذا النوع الديناميكي من الرقص.
