BECOME A LITERACY PLUS TUTOR!

If you have a couple of hours a week and want to help, become a volunteer tutor.  A few hours a week can change someone’s life – and your life, too.  Tutoring sessions are once or twice a week and can take place during the day, evening or weekend, depending on your availability. 

Tutor Requirements:

  • No teaching or tutoring experience required
  • Be 18 years of age, or older
  • Speak English clearly
  • Have good reading and writing skills
  • Commit to providing 2-4 hours of tutoring per week, for a minimum of 6 months
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Attend tutor orientation and training
  • Submit monthly hours reports and biannual learner accomplishments forms

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer tutor and attending the Literacy Plus Tutor Orientation, please fill out the Literacy Plus application. Once submitted, you will be contacted about next steps in the process.
