Learn a unique crochet stitch that links two layers of single crochet together as you create them. You may use the same yarn for both layers or two different yarns!
It creates a thick, stiff, and sturdy fabric that is ideal for hot pads and trivets. The stitch can be used by adapting almost any single-crochet design. It makes wonderful baskets and tote bags.
The basic flat stitch will be taught this month; next month we'll look at using it for bags and 3D designs.
Bring to class: any smooth worsted or DK-size yarn with appropriately-sized crochet hook and small scissors. (No smaller yarns!)
- Worsted-weight yarn: Crochet hook size 5.5-6.5 mm (I/J/K)
- DK (Light #3) yarn: Crochet hook 4.5-5.5 mm (G/H/I)
A limited quantity of yarn and crochet hooks will be available to borrow.
No registration required, and you don't need a library card to attend. Just drop in! And feel free to bring a friend.
See you there!
